Champions maintain perfect records

Ramsey relegate Town

The men’s and women’s champions in Manx hockey maintained their 100 per cent records on Saturday.

Bacchas A thrashed Valkyrs A 7-1 in the Men’s Premier League to round off their league campaign in style.

Jamie Brown, James Harrison (two), Dave Whiting, Andy Whiting, Karl Moore and Tony Bentley-Roberts were on target in a warm up for the Men’s Cup Final later this month.

Meanwhile, a Kim Carney double ensured women’s champions Vikings A saw off nearest rivals Ramsey A 2-1.

Georgie Coates found the net for the northerners.

Elsewhere, in the Women’s Premier League, cup finalists Bacchas A saw off Harlequins A 11-1.

Jess Tarpey (two), Freya Duchars (two), Kim MaCracken (two), Emma Courtie, Ellie Pearson, Georgia Foxton and Roxy Mitchell scored the goals with Chloe Quilliam replying for Quins.

Goals from Amy Speed (two), Maxine Smalley and Imogen Manning fired Valkyrs A to second place and a 4-0 victory over Castletown A, who have been relegated.

Meanwhile, back in the men’s top flight, Castletown A have also been relegated.

The ever-green Christian Steriopulous scored twice for Town but they went down 5-2 to Ramsey A to ensure they survived themselves.

League runners-up Vikings A were held to a goalless draw by Bacchas B in the other game.
