Christian smashes Cyclefest hill climb

Conditions for this year's climb were somewhat wetter than 2016

A record-smashing victory set Cyclefest into full swing this morning, with a gruelling Hill Climb from Ramsey to the Gooseneck.

Mark Christian took first place overall in the Storm the Tower event, with a best ever time of 05'17".

Second place Senior Men's went to Alex Rockwell (05'22"), with Elliot Baxter third.

There were some promising results in the Under 21 Men's category, with Adam Scarffe completing the run in 5'32" - and Will Draper just behind (05'38").

Ladies - and Carolyn Brown took the crown with a time of 07'18".

Catherine Priest was second with 08'25", and Emily Looker followed with 08'29".

U21 Tara Ferguson outstripped the Senior podium finishers with a time of 08'08", as did third placed Kirree Quayle with 08'23".

The Battle of Sky Hill Mountain Bike race was won by Elliot Baxter and Kirree Quayle.
