Clean sweep for Island's junior cricket team

Five wins out of five at Bromsgrove festival

The Island juniors cricketers have won all their matches at the Bromsgrove Festival.

Their fifth and final game on Wednesday was a 40 overs per-side fixture against Huntingdonshire.

The Manx made 283 for 8 with Nick Wild hitting 59, Drew Buxton 55 and George Burrows 50.

Good tight bowling caused Huntingdon major problems and they ended on 152 for 9.

Pick of the attack were Seth Aycock with 3 for 12, Eddie Beard 2 for 3 and Nick Wild 1 for 2.

The performance of the Manx team at the festival has been outstanding.

Congratulations go to the squad, together with coach Simon Beard and manager Karen Riordan.
