Town see off Quins in thriller

Castletown A won a penalty flick thriller to reach the semi-finals of the Bridgewater Men’s Cup on Saturday.

They triumphed 10-9 on flicks after a 2-2 draw with Harlequins A.

Paul Nuttall had scored both for ‘Quins.

In the other quarter-final ties, Ramsey A turned on the style to thrash Bacchas B 5-1.

A Thomas Tsitsos hat-trick and strikes from Sam Moffat and Ollie Brew fired the northerners to victory.

Valkyrs A saw off Vikings B 12-1.

Juan Killey was the star of the show with five goals.

Gareth Morris (two), Greg Miller, Russell Miller, Ollie Webster, Luis Novo Smith and Ashley Porter grabbed the goals.

Chris Hyde was the Vikings’ marksman.

In the Bridgewater Women’s Cup quarter-finals, Vikings A were too strong for a Ramsey side tipped to push them all the way.

The holders ran out 5-2 winners, thanks to strikes from Kim Carney (three) and Mia Greenwood.

Lauren Brew and Vicki Garner replied for Ramsey.

Doubles from Emma Leeming, Sophie Hudson and Emma Courite made a difference as Bacchas A defeated Harlequins A 8-0.
