Enduro: McCanney called up for Great Britain 6DAYS team

Manxman replaces injured Steve Holcombe for October event

Manx enduro rider, Jamie McCanney has been called up to represent Great Britain at the upcoming 6DAYS FIM Enduro of Nations.

The Island competitor will be drafted into the Men's Trophy Team as a replacement for Steve Holcombe who's withdrawing from the meeting due to injury.

Two-time world champion McCanney has been part of the squad on six previous occasions, including when Great Britain won the event back in 2022.

It'll also see him ride alongside fellow Manxman, Jed Etchells who was also part of the winning squad four years ago.

The other two riders part of the GB setup will be Nathan Watson and Brad Freeman.

Announcing the change, the ACU British ISDE Team believes McCanney will be 'a great addition to an already strong lineup'.

This year is also a landmark one for the 6DAYS FIM Enduro of Nations as it will be the 100th edition of the meeting.

It's scheduled to take place in the Alentejo Region in Portugal from 8-17 October, and is expected to feature 500 riders from more than 30 nations.
