FC Isle of Man get pre-season underway with summer festival

Ravens get first runout ahead of new season

FC Isle of Man are underway for pre-season after hosting the club's 2026 Summer Festival of Football in Ramsey last weekend.

'The Ravens' were one of four teams along with Shrewsbury Town, Radcliffe and Bury that faced off in four fixtures across last Friday (17 July) and Sunday (19 July) at the Ballacloan Stadium.

On the opening day (17 July) the event opened with EFL League Two, Shrewsbury Town taking on National League North outfit, Radcliffe with the latter emerging victorious on penalties following a draw in the regulation 90 minutes.

After that, the Manx side took on Northern Premier League competitors, Bury - there 'The Shakers' emerged with a 3-1 win over 'The Ravens'.

Those results meant that on Sunday (19 July), FC Isle of Man faced a tough test up against Shrewsbury Town, and despite a goalless first half, FC Isle of Man's opponents showed their class in the second period to eventually run out 4-0 winners in the third-place play-off.

Later on Sunday afternoon saw the meeting of Radcliffe and Bury in the final of the festival with Bury going on to win again and take the tournament honours with a narrow 2-1 success.

For FC Isle of Man, less than two weeks now remain until they are due to play their opening game of the 2026/27 NWCFL Premier Division season when they welcome FC St Helens to The Bowl on Saturday, 1 August.
