Final racing day at 2009 MGP

A rain and mud hit Manx Grand Prix should come to an end today.

This morning has the Lightweight and Ultra Lightweight classes, with the blue riband Senior due to bring the troubled meeting to a close later on.

Sports editor Tim Glover reports (text, below, from attached audio file):

Once again there will be anxious looks to the sky and weather charts - it looks like being windy with the possibility of showers.

Dan Sayle from Ballaugh and Joe Phillips from Northern Ireland top the practice sheets in the Lightweight and Ultra Lightweight respectively. Those times were set last Tuesday which illustrates just how bad conditions have been.

Scott Wilson is quickest going into the Senior at 117.618 but very close behind are Ryan McCay and the Manx challengers Ryan Kneen and Simon Fulton.

Competitors will then turn their attention to packing away belongings and trying to get vehicles out of the quagmire of a paddock at the back of the Grandstand.
