Football: Search begins for new women's national team manager

The process to appoint a new Isle of Man women's national football team manager is now underway.

The Isle of Man Football Association is looking for someone to take up the post on a fixed-term basis through to the 2029 International Island Games.

Furthermore officials say they're looking for someone who can 'play a key role in shaping the future of women's football' on Manx shores and lead the 'national team's pursuit of a historic gold medal on home soil.'

This comes after Wayne Lisy stood down from the role last month after five years in charge, having led the squad to bronze and silver medals at the Island Games in 2023 and 2025 respectively as well as guiding them to win the 2024 Cherry Godfrey Cup.

The Isle of Man FA adds it will be a voluntary role and aspiring candidates must have 'significant coaching experience' with senior football, holding a UEFA C (FA Level 2) coaching licence or 'with an appetite to train at this level.'
