Manxman Mark Higgins produced a stunning drive to finish third in the final round of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.
The Citroen World Rally cars driven by Sebastien Loeb and Dani Sordo took the top two places at the Cork 20 International Rally.
Higgins finished a place ahead of Eugene Donnelly but the result wasn't good enough to claim the overall title.
That goes to Donnelly for the fourth consecutive year.
Mark and brother David are both taking part in this weekend's Trackrod Rally of Yorkshire - the penultimate round of the British Championship which Mark leads.
He is aiming to clinch a fourth crown and become the first driver in history to win three British titles in a row.
Hockey: Two wins for travelling junior sides
