Parish Walk stalwart to be honoured
An 'inspiring ambassador' and lifelong devotee of the Parish Walk will be officially honoured ahead of this year's event.
Murray Lambden, who passed away last April, first won the race in 1978, and spent his remaining years documenting and organising it.
Now the athlete and community veteran's legacy is to be recognised with a blue plaque near the walk's finish line on Douglas Promenade.
The town's mayor Jon Joughin, and Murray's widow Marie, will formally unveil the tribute in the Marine Gardens on Friday, 22 June - a day before the 2018 Parish Walk.
