It’s Braddan v Onchan

Braddan remain on course for treble

Braddan will meet Onchan in the final of the Paul Henry Gold Cup.

The Division Two club kept alive their hopes of a treble with a 4-2 success over already promoted Douglas Royal.

Lee Curer and John McMullen put the hosts in front with first half goals and Stuart Pacey and Connor Dempsey made the tie safe after the break for Braddan, despite Royal fighting back through James Clarke and Kevin Ballard.

They will meet Onchan – the side which defeated them in the league in midweek – in the final after they won a dramatic penalty shoot-out following a six goal thriller at Foxdale.

Twice Onchan fought back against the westerners at Billy Goat Park, recovering from 1-0 and 3-1 down to level the scores.

Josh Brockbank, Joe Rees and Chris Asbridge scored their goals and neither side could be separated after extra-time to spark spot-kicks, in which Onchan triumphed 5-4.

Elsewhere, Colby rounded off a creditable first season back in the Canada Life Premier League.

A 4-1 home success over Ramsey sealed a ninth place finish.

Marty Moore netted a hat-trick and Johnny Croft grabbed the other goal.
