Douglas kick off 2022 with a win

Douglas beat Bowdon 17-15 at Port-e-Chee to start their new year on a good footing. Tries from Harry Raven and Luke Hyland gave them the edge and Hyland’s boot added both conversions and a crucial penalty to keep them the right side of the scoreboard. The win sees them climb above Bowdon and into twelfth place in the North One West standings.

 

Ramsey B finish Bowl with a win

Ramsey B beat Emerging Nomads 48-22 at the Mooragh Park to finish of the Ravenscroft Manx Bowl seven points clear at the top.   Two tries each from Rory Nicholson and Jake Richmond plus scores from Chris Clague and Connor Goodall and three conversions from Darragh Pilkington gave Ramsey a decisive first half advantage, with Nomads skipper Mike Quayle pulling one back for his side who trailed 36-5 at the break. In the second half Danny Howard added a brace for Ramsey but Nomads won the half with tries from Tom Collister and Tony Quinn who were both making their senior debuts plus a closing score from veteran Harry Brereton which was converted by George Callister.

 

Vagabonds Hornets clinched the runner up spot after another lose battle with Western Vikings which saw them run out 31-26 winners.  Harri Wallis, Mitch Wells, Cal Donnell and Will Taylor all crossed for Vagas with youngster Cole Donnelly bagging a last minute winner. Ian Marks and Tom Rowley added conversions. Jack Goodwin went in twice for Vikings with supporting scores from Ollie Creasey and Josh Hockney. Luke Oldfield, Ryan Burke and Harry Goodwin all kicked a conversion each.
