Royal and Peel reach semi-finals

Six times winners of the Women’s FA Cup, Douglas Royal, secured their passage to the semi-finals with ease on Sunday.

Donna Shimmin led the way with a four goal haul in an 8-0 victory over Castletown at the Stadium.

Rebecca Cole and Siobhann Lockwood were also on target for the Ballafletcher side.

Peel booked their place in the final four of the Warehouse Fitness Limited competition as they romped to a 15-1 victory over Old Boys at Blackberry Lane.

Vanessa Christian was the star of the show with eight goals.

She was joined on the scoresheet by Sarah O’Reilly (three), Maxine Smalley, Kerry Beattie, Jasmyn Crowe and Ellan Cleator.

The home side’s only bright moment was provided by Georgia Davies.

The match involving Colby and Corinthians was postponed.
