Ramsey beaten by league leaders

Ramsey’s poor results continued when they lost 45-10 to unbeaten Orrell at the Mooragh Park. Ramsey did however show that they can mix it with the best of them by shutting Orrell out in a scoreless second half. John F Watling celebrated his return from injury with a try which was converted by Dan Richmond who also kicked a penalty.

Vagabonds draw with Newton le Willows

The spoils were shared at Ballafletcher when Vagabonds drew 10-10 with Newton le Willows. The visitors led 3-0 at half time with a solitary penalty the only result for both teams’ efforts. A late De La Harpe penalty saw Vagas take a share of the points.

Hornets sting Vikings

Vagabonds Hornets beat Western Vikings 15-8 at a wet and windy QE2 in the Manx Shield. Andrew Colley scored early doors to give Vagas the lead. Harry Dawson kicked a penalty to keep Vikings in touch but Vagas extended their league with a James Skillicorn try. Just before half time Vikings pulled one back courtesy of Danny Howard and the teams turned around with Vagas 10-8 in front. Ant Pearson bagged Vagas third try early in the second half and despite having chances, Vikings were unable to break the Vagas defence.
