Nearly 50 players involved in this year's national championships

Thomas Whiteway has successfully defended his national squash title following the recent 2026 edition of the Isle of Man National Squash Championships.

The Island player managed to overcome eventual runner-up, Joshua Green in a repeat of the 2025 final following a week of competition at the NSC in Douglas.

The nature of the victory was also very similar to twelve months previous, with Whiteway beating Green via a 3-1 scoreline (11-8, 14-12, 11-13, 11-8).

Whilst much of the focus was on the senior event, there was also a 'significant' number of junior entries with the top junior performances also recognised during the championships.

In that regard, Rory Hughes earned the recognition award in the Under-15 category whilst Connor Joyce scooped the Under-11 recognition accolade.
Entries for the event were capped at 48 for this year, which Isle of Man Squash says was 'the highest number for many years.'
