Steady road comeback from Cummins

Conor Cummins made his road racing comeback at the North West 200 qualifying session on Tuesday night, after being seriously injured in a crash in last year's Senior TT.

The 'Ramsey Rocket' was 16th fastest in the Superbike class at 112.033 mph, Gavin Hunt was 17th at 111.277 mph, Dan Kneen was 19th at 110.723 mph and Si Fulton was 20th at 109.392 mph.

Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing rider Alastair Seeley was quickest at 119.094 mph, followed by Michael Rutter, Martin Jessopp, Gary Johnson, Stephen Thompson and Guy Martin.

Cummins also leads the Manx challenge in the Supersports in 11th overall at 107.430 mph. Si Fulton is 14th at 106.035 mph but Dan Kneen and Gavin Hunt have work to do at the next session on Thursday as they failed to qualify.

Cameron Donald on the Wilson Craig Racing Honda was fastest at 114.295 mph followed by Alastair Seeley, Michael Dunlop, Gary Johnson, Bruce Anstey and Guy Martin.

Gavin Hunt is the quickest local in the Superstocks in 16th at 114.134 mph, Cummins is 19th at 113.583 mph and Dan Kneen is 20th at 113.386 mph.

Alastair Seeley is top of the class again at 118.420 mph, followed by Michael Dunlop, Michael Rutter, William Dunlop, Ian Lougher and Adrian Archibald.
