We face 'an extraordinarily difficult time'

A fourth general election candidate has come forward in the single-seat constituency of Middle.

Paul Craine first entered local politics in 2007 and has been chairman of Marown Commissioners over the past year.

He has been coordinating adviser for secondary education in the Isleof Man since 1999, after 20 years in teaching, and has had to resign from the post to stand for the election.

Mr Craine sees planning as the number one issue in Middle, and says the economy is certain to dominate the election on a national level.

He says the Isle of Man is facing an extraordinarily difficult time, and needs levelheaded politicians who understand the issues and care about the outcomes.

Mr Craine has held a number of senior positions in the Island Games Association of Mann, and is also an active member of the Methodist Church.

The other people who have declared in Middle so far are challengers Juan Cottier and Howard Quayle, and sitting member Martyn Quayle.
