Wins for Cronkbourne and Crosby

Two matches played on Saturday

Two cricket matches were played on Saturday, despite it being the first day of racing at the TT.

Cronkbourne had a convincing victory over Valkyres when they won by 126 runs.

Adam McAuley scored 102 not out, rescuing Cronkbourne from two wickets down for three runs after Santhosh Nouduri bowled well early on.

McAuley was dropped on 21, highlighting the old adage that 'catches win matches'.

Cronkbourne’s Ben Haworth bowled well and he took six wickets for 13 runs from his seven overs.

Crosby won their game at KWC versus Castletown by two wickets.

Good batting by Crosby’s Kevin Kniveton and Danny Kniveton, who scored 64 not out and 28 respectively, saw them reach Castletown’s target of 158, despite losing quick wickets late on due to good bowling by Mark Williams.
