The Isle of Man Film Festival is what cinema should be about, according to a renowned film critic.

Mark Kermode is a patron of the Island's festival, which finished on Sunday night.

Events from coasteering to outdoor cinema screening, made up the six-day celebration of film, the highlight for many being a Q&A with actor Sir John Hurt on Saturday.

Mr Kermode says it's the ideal environment to appreciate film.
