Govt plans to attend Labour Conference thwarted

Fog on the Island on Sunday night ruined plans by the Manx Government to be represented at the annual Labour Party Conference.

Island officials were hoping to discuss Brexit with Labour party delegates in Brighton.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle and Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas had been due to fly to Gatwick on Sunday night but the plane was unable to land at Ronaldsway and so returned to London.

It is hoped the Island will be represented at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester next week.
