On Air The Morning Show Marc Tyley | 9:30am - Noon

Late Lunch listen again: Mike Davis and Becky O'Reilly

On the programme today, Christy and Howard caught up with Mike Davis ahead of his incredible effort to swim around the Isle of Man. At 3pm today, Mike Davis dove head first into the endurance swim, starting just South of the Point of Ayre.

During the challenge, he will cover up to 100 miles over 20 days with support from kayakers, and is raising money for the Manx Wildlife Trust and the Blue Marine Foundation in the process. You can support his incredible effort by visiting his JustGiving page here

We also heard from Becky O'Reilly, who is representing this week's Charity of the Week, Relay for Life Isle of Man. She gave us some of the background of the charity, talked about its association with Cancer Research UK and how the money raised all year long goes not only towards life saving research, but also towards facilities in the North West of England that Manx patients are able to make great use of in their treatment

We also heard our latest Mpghre Jedoonee Challenge, which tasks us with singing a Manx nursery rhyme before the end of the week (apologies in advance for that...!)

We celebrated the Great Manx Stay-cation, getting your suggestions of wonderful places to stay closer to home this Summer

And with music, we paid tribute to Mark Knopfler in the Jukebox, as the Dire Straits frontman turns 70 today. You chose Money for Nothing over Sultans of Swing; our Soul Starter was the wonderful 1968 hit 'What A Man' by Lydia Lyndell, which became a huge hit when sampled and reworked for Salt N Pepa 25 years later in 1993.

If you missed any part of today's programme, you can listen again at this link for the next 7 days. Tomorrow, we are back at the allotment with Tanya from Lovely Greens. Hope you can join us from 2pm!
