There’s a warm welcome for everyone - TAIZE services are times of gentle, relaxed worship - a more informal time of prayer that’s very popular with those who don’t feel ‘at home’ at a more formal Sunday service

For those who, for various reasons, are unable to join in this act of support and witness, there will be Congregational Praise service at the Promenade Methodist Church also at 10.30 a.m.

If the weather is absolutely foul, there will be a full service for both churches at Promenade led by Revd. Richard Hooton    -    at 10.30 a.m.

Advance notice: The end of next week, we welcome 70 guests from 'Friends of Cathedral Music' (UK) for their first Isle of Man National Gathering. Besides a dinner, guests  will experience a tour of the Tynwald buildings, an organ recital at St Thomas's Church and will be with us next Sunday at the Cathedral.

 

Refreshments are available after all Cathedral services,  and  don’t forget everyone is welcome to the BIG TABLE CAFE that’s open every Monday lunchtime between noon and 2pm,  in the Corrin Hall in the grounds of the Cathedral - a time to share good food and friendship - eat what you want, and pay whatever you can - there’s no fixed charges - but if there are any surplus funds they’ll be shared between the IOM Food Bank and the Mothers Union South Sudan Relief Fund - two charities tackling hunger at home and abroad

Dalby Church

Celebrate their 180th Anniversary!

 

St James Dalby are Celebrating their 180th Anniversary with a special Festival Service at 6.30pm on Sunday 7th July.  This service will have additional music from the choir “ Manx Voices”  as well as  Dr. John Snelling, and will have reflections, readings and memories from members of the community as they celebrate the journey of this Church School and the role it has played in the life of the community. There will be a Manx tea served after the service.

 

A village photo exhibition “ Life in Dalby” will open on Sunday 7th in the church and schoolrooms for the Anniversary and will run throughout the rest of the summer. It’s an exhibition of everyday life today, put together by the people of the village of their own lives, of the village and its surrounds. The exhibition will be open daily.

 

The celebrations conclude with an Anniversary Concert in the schoolrooms on Friday 12th July presented by Judith Ley and Friends.  Admission @ £10.00 includes a Manx Country Supper. To book please contact Gilly on 844031 stating if you have special dietary requirements.  Proceeds after costs go to St James Restoration Fund as well as their two charities for this year: Mannin Sepsis and the Manx charity working overseas : The Pahar Trust Nepal.
