On the programme today, we were joined by Dominic Gordon from the Isle of Man Alzheimer's Society.
Dominic talked to us about everything from diagnosis to treatment, support for carers and the fantastic services available on the Island - such as the 'Traa Di Liooar' till at Tesco and the Barclays initiative to train staff in learning how to deal with customers with mental health issues.
We also talked about the importance of music and its influence and impact on our emotional and psychological wellbeing; we learned about a songwriting initiative that brings music, movement and singing to people with Alzheimer’s and all forms of dementia, along with their carers.
And we spoke to David Lethbridge from Unforgettable.org, and Zoe Harris, who cared for her husband Geoff who had dementia, about the rollout of life changing dementia products that will be accessible on the high street and ‘click and collect’ for the first time - products that will take away some of the strain of coping with the condition.
