CPI figure remains at 1.8% for second month
The annual rate of inflation was unchanged at the end of last month.
Measured by the Consumer Prices Index, it remained at 1.8%, despite an underlying increasing trend in many categories including food, clothing, transport, education and restaurants.
A drop in housing and miscellaneous goods and oil prices helped offset these increases.
Other price rises included internet subscriptions and milk products, though milk itself decreased by 7%.
The figure, as measured by the Retail Prices Index, stood at 1.3%.
If the upward trend in prices is all getting a bit too much for you, there's good news; painkiller tablets were down in price by 10.2%.
