Manx Wildlife Trust benefits from bank's 'Green Loan'
More than 3 thousand trees and 5km of hedges are set to be planted across the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
The environmental boost comes from a partnership between HSBC and a number of Island conservation charities.
Earlier this year, the bank created a green finance campaign, which saw it make donations to the Manx Wildlife Trust every time a customer took out an ‘HSBC Green Loan’ during 2021.
It's lead to more than £53 thousand being donated.
The Bank also implemented plans to reduce plastic usage by using 85% recycled plastics for its credit cards and extending the life of cards from three to five years.
Not only that, HSBC reduced paper waste by enabling those applying for a mortgage to sign documents digitally and upload them electronically.
As a result of the campaign, almost 24,000 customers switched to e-statements, saving more than 1 million sheets of A4 paper each year.
