Another month before travellers feel confident, predicts travel operator

Border restrictions relaxed at the weekend

The head of a Manx travel operator believes it will be another month before people feel confident booking trips to and from the Island.

Border restrictions were relaxed to Level 3 at the weekend meaning family members, and partners, are among those now able to visit.

Self-isolation periods and testing regimes remain in place for those arriving -unrestricted travel, between the Island and the UK, is expected by the end of June.

Chairman of the Online Regional Travel Group Brian Kelly says there hasn't been a huge spike in bookings so far:

Meanwhile, the Steam Packet Company says it's seen very little change in bookings since the announcement.

The ferry operator doesn't expect to see increased demand until isolation requirements have been totally removed.

Passengers will still be asked to social distance on board and cleaning regimes will remain in place.
