Public lecture set up by sufferers of abuse
Break the silence on abuse - that's the subject of a public lecture designed to make victims feel safe, strong and secure enough to unmask it.
The 'Speak Up and Speak Out' event is being hosted by an Island-based independent advisory charity - set up by people who have suffered abuse.
It follows statistics released in the Chief Constable's Annual Report 2015/16 - showing a 56 per cent increase in cases of domestic abuse every year.
It'll take place at the Manx Legion Club in Douglas from 7:30pm on Monday (5 September).
Marcia K Brabbs is one of the speakers:
MGP rider suffered 'neck and chest injuries' following crash in practice
Inquest opens into death of local MGP rider
53 babies born on Island in August
Help give Buddy the best chance of a comfortable future
