Appleby leak: 'no evidence of wrong-doing'

Data breach row implicates law firm

Island law practice Appleby says it’s satisfied there is no evidence of any wrongdoing after it became implicated in a data-leak row.

The firm, based in Bermuda with an office in Athol Street in Douglas, admits it was hacked sometime last year with material 'obtained illegally' from its files.

According to the Daily Telegraph, some media organisations are preparing to release related information over the coming days.

The company says it may lead to innocent parties being exposed to data protection breaches.

It has since reviewed its cyber security and is confident its data integrity is secure.
