Avian flu risk rating raised in the UK but cases here down sharply

Isle of Man Chief Vet says people shouldn't be alarmed

There's been a significant drop in the number of Avian flu cases recorded on the Isle of Man.

However, the The UK Health Security Agency has raised the Avian flu pandemic risk from 3 to 4 on a scale of 6, after a strain of the virus found in the US infected four dairy workers and a number of cattle.

Isle of Man Chief Vet, Dr Amy Beckett says people shouldn't be alarmed by the move in the UK, which is a precautionary measure.
