Douglas Council Leader wants stronger action
Financial penalties for using empty sites for parking could force land owners to sell or develop vacant sites in the Island's capital.
That's the view of the Leader of Douglas Council David Christian.
The comments come after a Tynwald select committee was established last month to look into ways of getting more unused urban sites in the Island developed.
Mr Christian welcomes the suggestion of a limit on the amount of time an empty site can be used for parking, but would like to see stronger action taken.
