Candidate wants to scrap tuition fees

A candidate in next week’s House of Keys by-election says the Island should reduce its overseas aid contributions and that ‘charity begins at home’.

Since last year, university bound students have had to pay at least £2,500 towards their tuition fees.

Leslie Hanson believes all local students should have their fees paid in full.

Meanwhile, after narrowly missing out in the 2011 general election, he says his decision not to stand for the town commissioners hasn’t impeded his chances of success:

 

The other candidates in next week's Peel by-election are Ray Harmer, David Pownall and Penny Hardman.
