Project was initially due to be completed by 28 October
Work on completing the Millennium Bridge flap gate project will continue for a further month.
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed the project is now due to finish by 27 November.
It had initially been scheduled to run from 5 to 28 October.
The extension allows the Department to close the road between 8pm and 3am each day, but this will only happen when weather and tidal conditions permit.
The 23-tonne flap gate was craned back into position last weekend, after undergoing maintenance work in Ramsey, and crews now need to dismantle the working area and cofferdam beneath the structure.
