Rider collided with car on Curragh Road in January
The Coroner of Inquests has recommended a review into a crossing on the Heritage Trail following the death of a cyclist.
Twenty-one-year-old Luke McNicholas died when he collided with a vehicle while using the pink and white informal crossing at the Curragh Road.
Jayne Hughes recorded a verdict of accidental death, but called for the Department of Infrastructure to commission a road safety audit into the crossing, noting that the crossing was inadequately marked and controlled.
She added that partner agencies like the police should be consulted, and any recommendations identified in the audit should be implemented.
