Calls follow adjacent Shoprite store closure
A Douglas councillor says demolishing the Chester Street car park and putting a new one in its place is the best way forward.
Use of the facility is coming under the spotlight, particularly since Shoprite announced earlier this week it was to close its adjacent store on Saturday.
Richie McNicholl says the current car park, which is run by Douglas Borough Council and was built decades ago, isn't designed for the modern larger car, and its time is up.
