Criticisms of ABT entirely unfair says chairman

The chairman of the Agricultural Benevolent Trust has rejected suggestions that the charity is being too slow in getting financial help to farmers.

Peel Commissioner Ian Davidson said he had been getting complaints from sheep farmers who hadn't been contacted by the Trust, or seen any of the money which has been raised by members of the public at numerous fund-raising activities.

However, Mr Crowe says the criticism is "entirely unfair".
