Don't burn your waste, asks fire service

People asked to store it for now, or compost

There’s a plea to the public from the fire service to not burn your waste.

Fire and rescue teams have acknowledged how many people will have extra time in the garden while social distancing and self-isolating.

Officers ask, though, when it comes to excess waste to store it where possible, or try composting.

It says the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture alongside landowners have agreed to stop any heath burning.

It adds excess smoke should be avoided, as Covid-19 affects the respiratory system.
