Owners of Gaia on Lord Street issue statement
A coffee shop in Douglas will close its doors for good this weekend.
Gaia, which is also a vegetarian and vegan eatery, will hold its last day of operations on Saturday (8 November).
It opened on Lord Street last year.
In October 2024, the owners admitted opening the café in that location was a 'big and expensive mistake', saying they thought they'd have more of an advantage being so near the bus stops.
However, at the time, they said they weren't selling half the coffee they'd expected to.
Now though, the owners say that, despite significant interest, they have been unable to reach an agreement with any potential buyers for the business.
Customers have been thanked for their support.
