Fast speeds but furious villagers in St Marks

Speeds up to 90mph recorded through village

The police, the local commissioners and the infrastructure Department have been asked a come to a meeting next month (12 August) to talk over the high traffic speeds recorded through the village of St Marks.

Readings were taken from a so called 'smiley sid' device over seven days.

It recorded speeds at 70, 80 and one vehicle at 90 miles an hour.

More than 1,200 vehicles were over 50mph through the 30mph area.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse has described these findings as "concerning".

He has aranged the meeting on 12 August, with local people asked for their views.
