Site in west of Island birthplace of Pilates methodology
Today's Pilates 1020 event has been hailed a great success.
The event was being held to mark Knockaloe's place in history as the birthplace of modern Pilates.
It's creator - Joseph Pilates - developed the system whilst he was interned at Knockaloe Moar Farm during the First World War.
Thousands of internees were held there - with 1020 people in each section.
Whilst organisers are yet to confirm exact numbers, it's thought well over 800 attended this morning's mass Pilates session, held at the exact spot where Pilates first practiced the exercise regime 100 years ago
