Charity working with health department to adapt services

Hospice Isle of Man has unveiled its Covid-19 response plan.

The charity has been working closely with the Department of Health and Social Care, and third sector organisations to ensure it can continue to provide care to anyone living with life-limiting or terminal conditions.

Anne Mills, Chief Executive at Hospice Isle of Man says its has taken steps to speed up the 'Hospice at Home' plan.

The plan includes: The development of four hubs across the Island to enact greater response to End of Life care needs, daily online support via ZOOM to nursing and residential care settings, and day care patient support will switch to tele-health and remote management.

It adds that all shops will be temporarily closed with immediate effect, with the exception of the Hospice Warehouse.

All community fundraising events have also been postponed.
