Ettyl signs agreements for purchase

A Manx company has bought Stobart Air and the Carlisle Lake District Airport.

Ettyl, which is based on Victoria Street in Douglas, has signed agreements for the purchase of the airline from Esken Limited.

The purchase, which is subject to bank consent, won't affect the operation of the existing Aer Lingus franchise which is contracted to run to December 2022.

Chief executive officer Jason Scales says further announcements regarding's the company's plans will be made in the coming weeks and months.

'Ettyl sees significant opportunities for increased regional connectivity as economies recover from the impacts caused by the pandemic and return to stability across the UK and Ireland.’
