Island rare breed haven plan

The Isle of Man Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group will hear how the Isle of Man could become a haven for threatened livestock next week.

Ruth Dalton and Richard Broad, Northern and Southern Field officers for the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, will address a meeting at Knockaloe Classroom in Patrick starting at 7.30pm.

On Thursday, April 25, they’ll explain more about the work of the trust, which protects rare and endangered species of livestock.

And in particular, they’ll explore the possibility of the Island housing such breeds – safely away from outbreaks of disease in the UK.
