Viewers outraged at Countryfile mix-up
BBC producers have been left red-faced after a gaffe ahead of last night's Countryfile episode.
Viewers were in uproar after bosses mistakenly billed the programme, which featured the Isle of Man, as 'a trip to the Isle of Wight'.
The offending tweet was quickly deleted - but not before several users had criticised the awkward error.
Get the geography right! You've gone from White to Mann in two tweets! #Countryfile https://t.co/6bVqkdMQE9

A corrected link was then posted, along with an apology... And the sheepish claim 'it's been a long week'.
Been a long week Tony. Forgive us https://t.co/EyzLw2cHT5

The show still managed to attract a decent amount of praise, though:
Rather ace to see Manx tholtans on screen. Such lonesome sites, telling of a lost way of life. Not so long ago but a world away #Countryfile

I like that this episode of Countryfile is like serving as an ad for Isle of Man,I want to get on a ferry and hop on over now #countryfile

Well done @NoaBakehouse for getting local rye grown and milled on Isle of Man for your bakery.
