Manx Care 'recognises gap' in adult ADHD and Autism services

Health body issues statement as MHK plans Tynwald motion

Manx Care says it recognises that there is a gap in services to assess, diagnose and treat neurodiversity, specifically ADHD and Autism in adults.

It's as an MHK is set to bring forward a motion to Tynwald calling on the Island's health service to consider, among other things, the economic impact of not providing appropriate pathways.

You can read more on that HERE.

Currently there aren't any support and diagnosis pathways for adults with the conditions.

Manx Care, in response, says: 'We agree with Ms Faragher that as a health care provider and in society as a whole, there would be many positive outcomes from providing a dedicated service.

'This would require political support and resourcing to achieve.

'As such, we look forward to working with our colleagues in the Department of Health and Social Care, to assist with the discussions due to be held in Tynwald.'
