Extra traffic in the Noble's Hospital area expected this weekend
Manx Care is warning of an ‘increased risk of collisions’, and potential access problems for emergency vehicles, due to the opening of a new leisure centre.
Road safety measures have been agreed for vehicle access to Braddan Commissioners’ leisure centre ‘The Roundhouse’ but they are not in place yet.
It’s understood the facility – which is on the Noble’s Hospital site – may have a phased opening this weekend.
Manx Care is asking those visiting the site to ‘take extra care’ as there may be an increase in traffic as there is no direct access from the main road.
It's also asking people to not 'obstruct' roads so emergency service vehicles can get through.
Motorists are asked to use Strang Roundabout and Ballaoates Road rather than the main entrance.
