Lawrie Hooper says revealing major initiatives, including an AI development office, at the annual conference undermines parliamentary process
A Ramsey MHK has criticised government for unveiling major announcements at its annual conference before presenting them to Tynwald.
Among the reveals were plans for a National Office for Artificial Intelligence Development and Regulation, and the return of the Food and Drink Festival.
But Lawrie Hooper says key policy decisions should come before Tynwald first.
He believes it's a deliberate strategic choice:
Government 'expects fuel pricing to stabilise by middle of week'
Tanker carrying 4.5 million litres of fuel waiting to dock
Queues at pumps as diesel prices increase across Island
We aren't the fun police!
