Minister keen to involve pupils in Nelly Brennan memorial garden

Work to get underway next year after campaign by students

It's hoped pupils, who led calls to recognise Manx nurse who treated patients during the cholera outbreak, will be involved in the construction of a memorial garden in her honour.

Those studying history at Ballakermeen High School learnt about Nelly Brennan's work during the Year of the Nurse, and urged the Island's health minister to do more to highlight her achievements.

After hearing their presentation, David Ashford confirmed a memorial garden will be build at the Keyll Darree training centre at Noble's Hospital next year.
