MHK criticises lack of communication with travelling public
There needs to be more transparency when bus services on the Island are cancelled.
That's the opinion of one MHK after around 40 routes didn't run over the weekend because of 'operational constraints'.
Douglas East representative Joney Faragher doesn't think that's a good enough reason.
She took to social media saying it wasn't acceptable that the public had not been given a 'proper explanation about what it is that's affecting our bus services'.
The MHK has now written to the Department of Infrastructure asking for more information:
Manx Radio has submitted four requests for comment to the Department of Infrastructure about this including questions over potential staff walkouts.
It follows claims that more than 10 drivers walked out and refused to work overtime.
We are still waiting for a response.
