It 'may have had some sewage debris mixed with it'
Suspected raw sewage spotted on Peel Beach over the weekend should give residents cause to support a planning application for a new Sewage Treatment Works there.
That's the view of Manx Utilities' Executive Director with responsibility for Water and Wastewater.
The MUA insists what was photographed and shared on social media was not raw sewage but was a 'naturally occurring foam and scum'.
Tim Woakes told Manx Radio the future treatment plant would prevent items such as toilet roll and sanitary products washing up:
