It's Legit Racing running a 40 percent sustainable fuel at 2026 event

A team making its debut at TT 2026 says it intends to make history with its performance and its fuel choices.

In an event first ‘It’s Legit Racing’ is powering rider Ryan Garside with environmentally conscious fuel.

The team has teamed up with SUSTAIN to use fuel which includes less than 0.1 percent ethanol content.

It also contains second-generation biomass such as food and agricultural waste, straw and other non-food by-products.

Unlike conventional fossil fuels, where carbon stored underground for millions of years is released as CO2, these feedstocks recycle carbon already in the atmosphere.

SUSTAIN also operates in other motorsport disciplines such as the Dakar Rally.

Mark Bannister is the team owner and said: "This is one of the best races in the world to compete in and we intend to make history not just with our performance but through our fuel choices too.

“As a team we believe sustainable fuels are key to securing a brighter future for our sport and the planet.

"Behind the scenes we’ve spent months putting SUSTAIN to the test and have been really impressed by the results.

"Now it’s time to prove this performance on the course and we can’t wait to get started.”

He spoke to Manx Radio:

The fuel is 40 percent sustainable and is estimated to save 38 percent on greenhouse gases.

Suresh Nahar, SUSTAIN brand manager, said: "Over the past two years we’ve built real momentum in the motorcycling community, joining forces with forward-thinking brands, events, and enthusiasts looking to protect their passions whilst reducing their environmental impact.

"Through our new partnership with It’s Legit Racing we hope to build on this success even further, bringing a sustainable fuel blend to the Isle of Man TT for the very first time and working with an incredibly talented team to show just what it’s capable of.”

He spoke to Manx Radio:

It's Legit Racing are set to compete in two Carole Nash Sportbike races with Ryan Garside riding the team’s Triumph Daytona 660.

Garside is also set to race in two Monster Energy Supersport TT races on Wignalls Property’s Triumph Street Triple 765RS also on SUSTAIN fuel.
